7 Months...

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!??  7 months really snuck up on me!  I just love this age.  Molly is so curious, loves to say "da-da" and "ba-ba" and many other random things I can't quite make out.  She also loves to blow raspberries and make a funny clicking noise with her mouth.  Mike and her use it as a means of communication.  He starts clicking at her and she will do it back and smile.  So cute!  She also loves her fur brother.  Even in her crankiest of moods, Red Bull makes her smile.  She still loves to roll across the room and is still perfecting her army crawl.  I turn my head for one second and she has managed to get into something she isn't supposed to.  Let the baby-proofing begin!

Here are a few other quick pics from the last few weeks=)

Within two seconds of putting her on the changing table, this is what happens.  I'm pretty sure she is saying, "Lady, I do not want that diaper".
Playing with her ball and not amused by her Mama
Love her sweet smile in this picture.  We had a nice day last weekend and went for a walk.
Watching t.v. with pops.  Mike doesn't seem to think Sports Center falls under the "no tv" rule.
Out to lunch.  Molly's first time in a restaurant high chair. She wanted our guac but settled for Sophie.
Chillin in her PJs
Until next time....Happy Hump Day (Mike hates when I say that so that's especially for you babe;))!

The Holidays and Hello 2014!

The past month has been busy busy busy.....

Molly turned 6 months.  Timing is everything with babies and we should have known better than to take these right before nap time.  Oh well, still go some cute ones.

Molly and I made the 7 hours trek (10.5 for us though) down to Brandon together. Mike had to stay behind a few days for work.  That car ride was ROUGH.  Molly does great for the first 5 or so hour and then she just gets "over it" and she is very vocal about letting me know!  It was all worth it because we made it in time for this girl's precious first birthday!

A few hours before Olivia's party started, I brought Molly over so the cousins could meet for the very first time.  It was adorable!

Olivia was a great big cousin!

The next few days we spent with family which is what the holidays are all about=)

More play time with cousin Olivia

I decided to wean Molly from breastfeeding over the Christmas break.  As much as I am relieved to be done, in retrospect, I would not recommend weaning when your baby is out of their normal routine/comfort zone.  It was a bit stressful for both of us and we all paid for it in the sleep department.  After the dreadful ride home, we were so happy to get back into our routine and try to break some bad sleep habits that had been formed....

I always thought I would start sleep training Molly as soon as she got home from the hospital.  Of course we let her cry a little bit but Mike and I just couldn't bring ourselves to let our precious little nugget "cry it out".  After countless people telling us it was the best thing they'd ever done and doing lots of reading (Pediatricians say most babies should have no problem sleeping through the night at 6 months), Mike and I made the difficult decision to give sleep training a shot.  I was a wreck the night leading up to our first trial night.  Molly must have though I was crazy as I cried reading her all of her books and not wanting to stop snuggling her.  I am happy to report though, sleep  training was a success!  Molly did wake up twice her first night and cried for about an hour each time (but never hysterical).  After that, it has pretty much been smooth sailing.  We still have quite the early riser (5:30ish), but with 10+ hours of solid sleep, we are not complaining!

Not only did we ring in the new year with better sleep, we also had a few close friends over to celebrate.  I love these girls!

Happy 2014 from my dining room
Molly got the party started early
Love this guy.  Cheers to more sleep in 2014!
I don't have any real resolutions for 2014. ...except to practice gratefulness, but I did see this quote and it really spoke to me.  I decided this shall be my mantra of 2014.

Molly had her 6 month appointment this past week (more like 6 1/2 month appointment).  Her stats were:
Weight: 16 lbs, 15.2 oz (50th percentile)
Height: 25 3/4 inches (25-50th percentile)
Head circumference: 17 5/8 inches (95th percentile)

Other things of note:  Molly love love loves to eat!  At least 3 jars of food per day plus the maximum amount of milk per our pediatrician (32 oz).  Still haven't found a food she doesn't like (though carrots don't like her...).  She is also still rolling all around the room like a champ and definitely trying to crawl. She is doing somewhat of an army crawl at the moment but I see full blown crawling in our very near future.  Molly also loves to talk.  "Da da" and "Ba ba" are her favorite words.  I am pretty sure she has no idea what she is saying but Mike would tell you otherwise;).

Here are a few more fav pictures from the past month.  For my VERY FEW loyal readers, I hope I didn't put you to sleep haha.

A very rare wine night with good friends=)...Mama Emily was present as well
